Jo is an adventure-traveller with a passion for writing and sustainable living.
After a sailing trip from Cape Town to Belgium, she and her husband returned overland from Cairo to Cape Town with folding bicycles. This amazing experience prompted Jo to write a book, A Hitch-biker’s Guide Through Africa
and started her love affair with anything on 2 wheels.
Jo and her husband Jan launched an import business, becoming the sole distributor for Dahon folding bikes in South Africa before the unfavourable exchange rate forced them to close down. They then launched a MTB tour company in Zanzibar.
When Jo is not cycling or sailing, you will find her residing in Cape Town or Zanzibar, where she has been writing professionally about business & startups since 2018.
